EQ4Kids - Vaal Triangle

I am a mother to two perfect little beings and a wife and soulmate to an amazing husband.

My life journey and career up until now have taken me all over Southern Africa working mostly in the high-end Safari tourism & hospitality industry. It was my time in the safari industry that first stimulated my interests in emotional intelligence.

In my hospitality years we hosted guests from all walks of life, right from the highest in society to those who live more modest, (normal) lives. I quickly learnt that irrespective of who you are or what your background is the majority of people lack emotional intelligence.

From a young age we are indoctrinated to believe that knowledge and skills instilled upon us at school & tertiary education will set us up for a successful career and a prosperous life. In society, unfortunately we also quickly learn the lack of emotional intellect are often the make or break skills. And these critical skills training are often pushed aside.

We come across the term Leadership regularly, but we rarely come across Leaders that effectively lead with astute emotional intelligence. It is for this very reason that I realized how critical it is for us to empower young minds with the skills to perceive, process and regulate emotional information that will help guide their thoughts and actions.

The ability to identify & regulate your own emotions & understand the emotions of others will equip our children to be “well rounded” children today and better leaders tomorrow.

I consider myself blessed and honored to be a part of the EQ4Kids family, the value and impact we will have on the lives of our children is immeasurable. Most of us were not fortunate as young children to receive emotional intelligence training, but I am empowered by EQ4Kids and very excited to make a significant contribution to the lives & prosperous futures of many young children.
