EQ4Kids - Port Elizabeth

Having majored in Psychology at university and having been involved in education for the past 38 years, teaching, guiding and counseling teenagers, I have seen the psychological damage and emotional trauma inflicted on them when they were never afforded the opportunity in their formative years to learn how to deal and cope with their emotions, especially between the ages of 4 and 8.

To be able to acquire a franchise and institute a team of equipped professionals to make an invaluable difference by establishing a well adjusted youth to negotiate their lives in a broken world, is a dream. EQ4Kids is the key that enables your child to unlock, interpret and encompass their emotions and discover the inner power, true magic and beauty within themselves.

The appearance of things changes according to the emotions; and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves - Kahlil Gibran

Facilitator EQ4Kids - Port Elizabeth & Jeffreys Bay

Everyone knows about IQ and how important it can be in developing a future but not

many people realize how emotional intelligence can shape success.

My passion for EQ4Kids stems from my commitment to nurturing the emotional intelligence of young minds. And I am sure that, as an educator, you understand better than most the profound impact early emotional development has on lifelong well-being. After high school I decided that I wanted to study something that can help people and make a change in people's lives, so I decided to study psychology. I was able to get my honour's degree in 2022 and my passion for EQ4Kids is rooted in the belief that emotional intelligence is the cornerstone of a child's holistic development.

EQ4Kids has allowed me to translate the theoretical knowledge that I have learned throughout my studies, into a practical, impactful programme that equips children from diverse backgrounds with the emotional awareness needed to navigate life's complexities. Through my studies I was able to learn how important emotional intelligence and the nurturing of emotions really is, especially in developing children.

I strongly believe that we will be able to unlock children's full potential with this comprehensive programme designed for ages 3 to high school. Our engaging and age-appropriate modules foster self-awareness, and empathy which lays the foundation for a confident and emotionally intelligent future. I personally believe that empathy is one of the most important skills to learn and there are so many adults who don't even have this skill. But with this programme, we educate these vital life skills from such a young age that by the time they are adults it is second nature to

them.

EQ4Kids isn't just a programme; it's a manifestation of our dedication to empowering children. Which is exactly the reason why I wanted to study psychology, to make a difference and take care of those who can't always take care of themselves. With the essential tools for emotional resilience, empathy, and personal growth that this programme teaches, these children will flourish.

One of my favourite things about EQ4Kids is that every lesson reflects a genuine desire to contribute to the emotional well-being of the next generation, fostering a world where every child has the tools to thrive. Our expertly crafted curriculum not only enhances social skills but also builds a strong foundation for emotional resilience, conflict resolution, and effective communication. These learned skills not only help children to develop emotionally but can also aid teachers and staff in effectively handling the children they may have struggled to communicate with previously. From super fun interactive activities and games for our younger participants to tailored strategies for high school students, EQ4Kids is the key to shaping well-rounded individuals equipped for success.

I want to see a world where children not only excel academically but can also navigate life's challenges with resilience and empathy. And hopefully I can play a part in this world that is within reach, thanks to this groundbreaking programme.

As someone deeply passionate about this programme and the mental and emotional well-being of children I am so thankful that I can use my knowledge and education to make a difference and I am sure, as someone who is in this field, you are just as eager to make a change in these kids' lives. I am so excited to see where this programme can take these children, and to work at shaping a future where emotional intelligence pushes them toward lifelong success and fulfilment.

I hope that you will join us on this empowering adventure!
