EQ4Kids - Kimberley

You have seen them, the people who take deadlines in their stride. Those who handle awkward family dinners with grace. The ones that get where you’re coming from, without you having to say much. That’s because they possess a certain skill set, namely emotional intelligence.

As an Industrial psychologist I realised that emotional intelligence is closely associated with success in the workplace and therefore I never appoint any employee without an emotional intelligence assessment. It assesses candidates' ability to understand and control their own emotions, manage their stress and their ability to empathetically interact with other workers. It's not enough to be smart or skilled. You have to get along with other people, whether contributing to or leading a team.

When EQ4Kids crossed my path, I immediately knew that I wanted to start teaching these critical skills and making a vital contribution to the lives and futures of children from a very young age. The earlier children can acquire and make these skills their own, the sooner it becomes part of their character.

The programme will enhance your child’s ability to form stable, supportive relationships and enjoy greater well-being as well as academic performance and success on all levels of life. Developing a child’s emotional intelligence plays a key role in raising happy, resilient, and well-adjusted kids and adults one day. As a mother, it is my duty to ensure that my children are equipped with these skills in order to become the best human beings possible.

Remember, you are the one who gets to control your emotions, so they don’t control you!

“When awareness is brought to an emotion, power is brought to your life.” – Tara Meyer Robson
